The National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) Art Museum and Visual Arts Program showcases and interprets art from diverse and complex Latino experiences. The Visual Arts Department includes the NHCC Art Museum, a rapidly expanding permanent art collection, and a state of the art storage facility for preservation of this permanent collection. Examples in the NHCC art collection include “contemporary“ and “traditional” expressions of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, media arts, design, sculpture, metalwork, furniture, textiles, mixed media, and installation art. The museum features approximately 10,000 square feet of exhibition space. Rotating exhibitions include selections from the permanent collection, exhibits generated by NHCC Visual Arts Staff, a Community Gallery featuring significant local artists, and groundbreaking traveling exhibits all of which actively engage multiple audiences in this dynamic museum venue.
